Problems encountered in Bar LCD panel cutting

 

The LCD panel is composed of two glass plates with crystal droplets about 5 microns thick in the middle. The LCD panel is an important component of the LCD display. When manufacturing or using the LCD panel, there may be defective D-standard LCD panels and scrapped large-size panels. How to transform the originally low-value defective or scrapped products into Good products with higher prices are of great significance. However, there are three major technical problems when cutting large-size LCD panels into small-size LCD panels:

 

1. The defective glass in the original LCD panel was cut and there was liquid crystal leakage in the cutout;

 

2. The TFT crystal will be cut during cutting, causing a short circuit at the bottom cutting point and resulting in poor lines in the screen display;

 

3. The glass in the original LCD panel already has a polarizer. Due to the polarizer during cutting, the cutting wheel cannot directly contact the glass surface. The polarizer needs to be removed and the glass can be exposed before cutting, and the polarizer must be removed. Not only does it cause a waste of material costs, but it also causes undesirable phenomena such as the formation of patch foreign matter on the glass surface due to UV solid glue in subsequent processes.

(1) Cut the polarizer; first correct and position the slicing mold. The slicing mold is equipped with a scale. Adjust the position of the blade to cut the polarizer according to the cutting size of the LCD panel. Set the distance between the two blades of the slicing head and fix the position, and then put it in. Cut the polarizer on the LCD panel, and then tear off the cut polarizer to expose the glass surface;

 

(2) Precise cutting; ① Positioning; place the LCD panel with the polarizer removed into the cutting platform of the cutting machine, vacuum and fix it, and fine-tune the machine CCD to find the display pixl unit image so that the cutting position avoids the position of the TFT crystal , move the cutter head slightly to the pixl light-transmitting median area to form positioning coordinate parameters, save the coordinate parameters, and complete the positioning of the knife; ② Set the cutting parameters; the cutting process controls the cutting parameters so that the glass after cutting is in a natural fracture state. Prevent liquid crystal leakage from the incision caused by split pressing;

 

(3) Sealing and curing; use the sealing carrier to seal the cut LCD panel with UV glue. After the incision is sealed with UV glue, the glue will infiltrate. The glue infiltration time is 30 to 40 seconds; after the glue infiltrates, UV will be carried out through a UV irradiation lamp. The sealant is completely cured;

 

(4) Inspection and testing: The sealed and cured LCD panel is subjected to a lighting test and is released after passing the test. Further, the distance between the two blades of the slicing head in step (1) is 1.5 to 2.5 mm. Further, the cutting parameters in step (2) include: the cutting depth is 0.05~0.06mm, the cutting pressure is 0.6~0.8Mpa, and the cutting speed is 300~500mm/s. Further, in the step (3), the light energy of the UV irradiation lamp reaches more than 1800J/cm2, and the light residence time is more than 2s. Further, the interval between steps (2) and (3) is no more than 1 minute.
